Conventionally we leave off procuring artworks till we are done painting and furnishing, bringing in the paintings, sculptures and other art pieces as a final if at all necessary addition. However that trend may leave us missing out on the wonderful design opportunities possible from applying wall art at just the right stage in interior decoration.
One of those possibilities is the way we can use wall art to choose the dominant color palette for an interior. This is very helpful as one can sometimes be spoiled for choice or out rightly confused when trying to choose a color to put on a space. By simply going for a wall art or painting of one’s preference, one can then use the dominant color from the painting for the space.
The basic idea here is to make the wall art a focal point that will instantly capture attention and leave a definitive impression on anyone who walks into the room. For instance imagine your favorite artwork hanging prominently on your living room wall. However when choosing, one should be careful about the size of the artwork so as to avoid overcrowding or untidy cluster.
But then one would ask, why even bother with wall art or any other form of art in decorating a living space? Where a person lives – that pretty much defines what a home is. In our times this means a much more complex niche where the new human comes alive, after all the noise of the outside world. It is not like we shut out the noise at home, what with the interference of the Internet and social media. Home needs to be more flexible. It has become where a person has the tools for refreshing from everything else.
Maybe we want the white cube to be our recharge centre. Modern architecture pretty much has stayed the same for almost as long as humans walked the earth. One thing inherited from the early man though, was decorating the walls of our caves, sorry homes with trophies, aspirations and inspirations. That points to the age-old relationship between the Arts and Man. We have lived with it like forever.
The somewhat simplistic definition of a home given at the beginning comes from one of the more prestigious dictionaries of the English language around. Home means a lot more. We take home our work life, more often than not. We live out the drama of our existence; this time in a controlled environment we can call our own. As the meaning is being developed, the role of Art becomes more relevant for bringing more liveliness to our homes. Art is like a balm to the gift of sight, soothing, and stirring up great fervor. It is easy to see how the intelligible being will be inspired into new zones by surrounding himself with certain objects.
Art, and I refer to paintings, sculptures, ceramics, are likely objects that can reflect stories of daily living. It would be a good start to talk about the therapeutic power of Art, or the instances in which Art has caused a revolution, or the value of Art as an investment option but the story is nearly done. Art is that centerpiece that lights the hearth. The warmth of Art stems from its interaction with the space in which it is displayed. More than potted plants in a house because they are manmade objects, Art derives value and great liveliness with human interaction.
Lending itself to human interpretations, Art connects our moments with our individual stories. The stories are universal, happening as we continue through life, looking for better places of rest or work. Art is all around us to help assuage the rush of the times we live in. Bringing Art into our homes introduces a continuation of a new life. Our world becomes more complex with Art. The difficult things in daily life suddenly welter away into the shadows. We can smile, we can be happy again. Art refines the subject of living.
